Mount St Benedict College 2009 Tour Report

MSBC girls in San FranciscoIn October 2009, a group of 30 girls and 4 staff from Mt Saint Benedict College in Sydney ventured on an amazing netball (and shopping) tour of Canada and the USA.  It was a great chance for the girls to bond as a team, and to learn more about the world.

Beginning in San Francisco, the girls spend a few days sightseeing including cycling across the Golden Gate Bridge, riding on the famous Cable Cars, a ferry ride past Alcatraz Prison and shopping and yummy food at Fisherman's Wharf.

Next stop was Vancouver.  Experiencing true Canada, the girls were guests of honour at a local Ice Hockey match.  They also spent an amazing day on Grouse Mountain with ziplining, the Skyride and a visit to see the grizzly bears.  Now of course the main reason for this tour was to play some netball, and there was plenty of action as the girls competed against some local schools in Burnaby at a netball tournament.  All 3 MSBC teams played exceptionally well and came away with some wins.

Now that the netball was over, it was off to the last destination of the tour, Los Angeles.  Here the girls shopped their hearts out, visited Disneyland, Universal Studios, and toured the famous landmarks of LA.

This was an amazing tour that will live with all the girls (and teachers) for the rest of their lives.  Just amazing!
