International Children's Winter Games - January 2011 - Kelowna, Canada
The International Children's Games is an event like no other.
The Winter version of the Games is the ultimate opportunity for Snowsports students to show their skills to the world, make new friendships, learn more about the world, and just have a great time! The program will see more than 1,000 participants from over 30 cities from around the world participating in skiing, snowboarding, curling, speed skating, figure skating, and for the first time at the Winter ICG, ice hockey.
Associated with the International Olympic Committee, the International Children's Games is specifically for children aged between 12 and 15. It is a great opportunity for our young people to experience international competition in a friendly, safe and encouraging environment - while still competing at a very high level.
After a very successful 2009 Winter Games in Montreaux, Switzerland, the announcement has just been made that in January 2011, this fabulous event will be hosted in the beautiful city of Kelowna in British Columbia, Canada.
The host city of Kelowna is a dynamic city of 110,000 people, in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley. Teaming up with Big White Ski Resort, the people of Kelowna are very excited to be hosting this amazing event, and can't wait to show the world their Canadian hospitality.
Participation in any ICG is purely by invitation, so if your school would like to represent it's local city/shire, please contact us as Australia's official ICG representatives so we can help you to get your Snowsports team on their way to Canada!
