International Children's Games - July 2010 - Manama, Bahrain
From June 28 to 3 July, 2010, Bahrain is the place to be to participate in the 44th International Children's Games.
Here the world will gather for a celebration of friendship and sport with 1,500 young athletes from over 100 cities and representing 50 countries and 6 continents. Athletes will not only compete in their given sports, but will participate in cultural activities designed to foster understanding and friendship.
Endorsed by the International Olympic Committee, the International Children's Games is a premier global, youth athletic event that combines sports and educational programs, cultural exchange opportunities and economic development. The Games serve as a vehicle to promote alliances, friendships and common understanding among children around the world and have done so since 1968.
The sports included in the Bahrain Games in 2010 are Volleyball, Swimming, Track & Field, Tae Kwon Do, Futsal (boys only), Sailing, Handball and Table Tennis.
